Oven Dry Tomato

Aug 26, 2021 You can dry your tomatoes in the oven or with a food dehydrator. I used both methods and found they both work well with very different results. The food dehydrator dries at a much lower temperature, preserving the bright colors of the tomatoes. With most ovens, your lowest temperature is in the 200-150 degree range.

Bring water to a boil then place the tomatoes in the pot for 1 to 2 minutes. Keep lid on container when blanching. Cool the tomatoes immediately under cold water. Steam blanching: Add 1 to 2 inches of water to the pot and heat to boiling. Place colander into pot with tomatoes, cover and steam until heated through, about 2 to 3 minutes.
